DONATE
As Christians, donating is an expression of faith and a tangible way to serve others, embodying the love of Christ in the world. The Bible encourages believers to be generous and to share with those in need, emphasizing that such acts of kindness are not just charitable deeds but offerings to God Himself. In Proverbs 19:17, it is written, "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." This verse highlights that when Christians donate, they are not just helping others but are also honoring God, who promises to bless such generosity. Furthermore, 1 John 3:17 challenges believers by asking, "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?" Through donating, Christians demonstrate that the love of God dwells within them, reflecting the sacrificial love that Jesus showed on the cross.
GIVING
In the Christian faith, giving is viewed as a profound act of love and obedience to God. It reflects the selfless nature of Christ, who gave Himself for humanity. The Bible teaches that giving should be done with a cheerful heart, as expressed in 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." Furthermore, Jesus emphasized the importance of generosity in Luke 6:38: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." This act of giving is not just about material wealth but also encompasses time, love, and compassion towards others, as a reflection of God's boundless grace.
BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Becoming a volunteer in the Christian sense is a powerful way to live out one's faith through service. Jesus Himself set the example of servanthood, saying in Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Volunteering allows Christians to follow in Jesus’ footsteps, offering their time and talents to help others and advance God’s Kingdom. The Bible calls believers to serve one another humbly in love, as Paul writes in Galatians 5:13, "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love." By volunteering, Christians not only meet the needs of those around them but also grow in their spiritual walk, embodying the hands and feet of Christ in a world that desperately needs His love and compassion.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Joining the apaostolic church Romford Christina Centre ,can make a significant impact by actively engaging in the church’s mission and activities. This can include volunteering for community service projects, participating in worship services, or offering their unique skills to support church operations. The Bible highlights the importance of using one’s gifts for the common good, as seen in 1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Jesus exemplified this through His acts of service and compassion, such as feeding the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21), showing that every contribution, big or small, can help nourish and grow the church community.
